Retro Party, Saturday, March 17 2012

This year we came up with something very special for your delight during the Linux Night. The Retro Party is going to be a mixture of 8-/16-Bit Computer Games and Chiptunes Live Music.

From A as in Atari 2600 via the BS01 (the only video game of the GDR), the 8-/16-Bit classics of Nintendo and Sega, the Vectrex (the only vector-based game console ever) through to Z as in Zapper (the NES lightgun): A lot of video game classics and computer veterans will be available. They will be complemented with curiosities such as 8-Bit 3D games and remarkable controllers such as the Power Glove (a glove controller). Furthermore, you can live it up on some early Linux distributions.

The party will take place at the «Treff am Campus» (Reichenhainer Straße 55), a student club near the venue of the Linuxtage. Attendees of the Chemnitzer Linuxtage will have free entry to the Retro Party with their entry ticket. As usual for student clubs, the TaC sells drinks at convenient prices.

Doors open/Gaming for attendees of the Chemnitzer Linuxtage: 6 p.m.
Doors open/Gaming for all: 8.30 p.m.
Live music: 9.30 p.m.

Music performers using not more than 8-Bit are:
