Why Nobody Contributes to your Super Open Source Project?
Referent:
Building and maintaining a community is hard work. In my daily life I see a lot of Open Source Projects. They all have some things in common: They're all started by a single or very small group of developers. They are mostly niche products. Product either depends on special needs of the initial developers. Others are drawn at a design board for commercial reasons. The projects have neither a community manager or even a plan to build their community. This talk is about actual chances and best practices to build communities. What does it need to build a community - beside the product? Who will be your community? How long will it take to build a community? After a brief introduction in community building please ask your questions to make this presentation a community event. Slides and abstract are in English, talk will be in German.
