3D Acoustic Source Localization in Indoor Environments

We evaluated different variants of time delay of arrival based methods for their accuracy to localize sound sources in a laboratory environment. Three different planar microphone array geometries are used with 16 to 24 microphones and different technical features like directivity. Those results are compared to spatial geometries in terms of 3D localisation accuracy in space and time. Further analysis includes the audio signal based tracking of a moving object.
