Server Security Automation with Ansible

To fulfill the ever growing amount of tasks and requirements in information technology, automation of frequently required processes has proven itself to be a useful solution. To also cover the equivalently growing demand in systems that have been secured to an optimum or even maximum, it is straightforward to combine those two elements. The Security Content Automation Protocol SCAP provides specific standards for automatic organization and finding of vulnerabilities as well as evaluation of compliance to security guidelines. In parallel, the Security Technical Implementation Guide STIG provides guidelines for security protocols in networks and integrated computers which aims at improving overall security. Both can be realized using automation tools as Ansible. The talk will provide an introduction to the process.
