A talk about my journey to AI in development. About setting up and running local models using Ollama and vLLM and a Framework Desktop (and any other suited hardware). Connecting coding assistants and other tools. Giving a rough overview of the tool landscape and choosing the tools by trial and error. Presenting some examples and getting started using AI.
Desired previous knowledge: Some vague knowledge about AI at all. Basic Linux System Administration (setting up services, installing software) and cli/shell knowledge.
