Directions

The Chemnitzer Linux-Tage take place in the central lecture hall and seminar building of Technischen Universität Chemnitz. The building is located on the campus at Reichenhainer Straße 90.

In Chemnitz

From Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof (the central station) and stop "Chemnitz Süd": take the tram (lines 3, C13, C14, C15) to Technopark and get off at the stop "TU Campus". Schedules for tram and bus.

Alternatively, it is 15 minutes by foot from the railway station "Chemnitz Süd"

By train

  • Train schedule: www.bahn.de
  • The closest train station is "Chemnitz-Süd" (Chemnitz South), otherwise get off at "Hauptbahnhof" (central station). In town public transport (ÖPNV) is your best option.

By car

  • North-West-Germany: Direction Hannover, take the A2 direction Berlin and Magdeburg, take the A14 direction Dresden and Dreieck Nossen, take the A4 direction Chemnitz
  • North-East-Germany: Direction Berlin, take the A13 and Dresden, take A4 direction Chemnitz
  • West Germany: Direction Bad Hersfeld (northbound take the A44/A7 or southbound take A4/A45/A5), take the A4 direction Chemnitz
  • South-West-Germany: Direction Frankfurt am Main, take the A5 direction Bad Hersfeld, take A4 direction Chemnitz
  • Southern Germany: Direction Nürnberg, take the A9 direction Leipzig and Hof, take the A72 direction Chemnitz

Parking spaces are available free of charge on the opposite side of the road, about 100 m far away. Furthmore there temporary parking space behind the conference venue. You may approach it via the Fraunhoferstraße and Lise-Meitner-Straße.

By Linux-Bus

There will be a special bus from the Ruhr area heading towards the Chemnitz Linux Days provided by Freedom Tours.

Düsseldorf → Essen → Dortmund → Kassel → Chemnitz

By commerical flight

Well, there is no airport in Chemnitz ;-). Therefore we recommend to fly to the airports Dresden or Leipzig and continue via train or car to get to Chemnitz.

By chartered plane

The airfield Chemnitz/Jahnsdorf (EDCJ) is located approximately 6.5 nautical miles southwest of Chemnitz. Opening hours and pilot data can be retrieved from the official publication or the website of the airfield. Train line No. C11, which takes you to the city centre, stops in the vicinity of the airfield. From there continue by bus.
