BSD certifications

This year, the BSD Certification Group (BSDCG) will again offer the BSDA exam during the Chemnitzer Linux-Tage.

The exam will be taken on paper in English. Further information are available at the website of the BSD Certification Group http://www.bsdcertification.org/.

In preparation for the exam, the BSDCG publishes a DVD twice a year. On this DVD all four big BSDs (FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD and DragonFly BSD) are available each with the current version. In addition, manuals as well as other documents on the DVD can be used for the preparation of the exam. However they can also be downloaded from the website of the BSDCG.

Schedule

Attendees of the exam will need a BSDCG-ID and therefore have to register at https://register.bsdcertification.org/register/get-a-bsdcg-id. Subsequently, the date of the exam has to be chosen and the examination fee of 70 US$ (about 50 Euros) has to be payed via PayPal or credit card.

The candidates of the exam have to bring along their ID card or passport.

The exam will begin on Sunday, 15 March 2009, in the basement room UG2 at 10.30am.

Participants who have attended the Beta exam will receive a discount of 50% on the examination fee.

About the BSDCG

The BSDCG is a in the USA registered free association which has set themself the target to create a standardized and top quality certification for BSD systems.

The BSDA exam aims at junior system administrators who have an experience of about one year with the administration of BSD systems.
